Meet the Knoxville flooring team behind Volunteer Flooring & Design
A Knoxville Flooring Company Built on Straight Talk
Volunteer Flooring & Design opened in 2024, and while the company is new, the people behind it are not new to flooring. Co-owner Nicholas Laskowski is a second-generation flooring professional who grew up in the trade and knows the work from choosing materials to kneeling on the subfloor. Co-owner Reid Zuchowski brings a contractor's eye for detail, the same patience he applies to building and restoring cars. Together with our partner Jason McDaniel, they set out to run the kind of flooring business they wanted to hire themselves.
That means our own crews do every install. We do not subcontract your job to a team you have never met, and we do not pad quotes with fees that show up later. We stay punctual, protect your home while we work, and leave the space clean when we go. When people ask what we are about, it comes down to three things: get the job done right, charge a fair price, and stand behind our work. Walk in and you can handle real samples, compare products side by side, and talk through budgets with someone who will not push you toward the most expensive option. We carry lines from Mohawk, Revwood, and Bella Flooring Group alongside other trusted manufacturers, so there is range at every price point.
Prefer to stay home? Our shop-at-home service brings curated samples to your door, measures the space, and gives you a written quote before we leave. Seeing a luxury vinyl plank or hardwood sample in your own light, next to your own cabinets, saves people from a lot of second-guessing.
We install for homeowners and for businesses. Offices, retail spaces, and healthcare facilities hire us through our commercial flooring work, and builders, designers, and trade partners rely on us for dependable crews. We also handle insurance-claim flooring and sell materials only if you would rather install yourself. As a National Wood Flooring Association member, we hold ourselves to the standards the wood-floor industry sets.
Our selection covers solid and engineered hardwood, luxury vinyl plank and tile, laminate, porcelain and ceramic tile, natural stone tile, and carpet. If budget is a concern, tell us early.
